Now a days, internet is used by lots of people and they usually prefer using wireless connections to surf internet. You might also be getting some wireless connections available if you are searching for Wireless Network Connections. But it is hard to get any wifi network which is unprotected because now users are aware of this fact that other people can use their connection without their knowledge through wifi, so they protect the connection using WEP/WPA protection. Well, before starting the process, let me tell you what are WEP and WPA in brief:

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
This is the most basic form of encryption. This has become an unsafe option as it is vulnerable and can be cracked with relative ease. Although this is the case many people still use this encryption.

WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access)
This is the more secure alternative. Efficient cracking of the passphrase of such a network requires the use of a wordlist with the common passwords. In other words you use the old fashioned method of trial and error to gain access. Variations include WPA-2 which is the most secure encryption alternative till date. Although this can also be cracked using a wordlist if the password is common, this is virtually uncrackable with a strong password. That is, unless the WPA PIN is still enabled (as is the default on many routers).

You will need the following things before starting the wifi hack process:
1. A Compatible WiFi adapter (Click Here to check whether your adapter is supported or not)
2. CommView for wifi. (Click Here To Download)
3. Aircrack-ng GUI (Click Here To Download)

Now lets start the steps to crack wifi password:
1. Install CommView for WiFi and run it.
2. Now click PLAY icon on the top left side of the app window.
3. CommView will start scanning the wireless networks in range and after a few minutes, it will show you the list of available wireless networks with their security type and signal.
4. Now select your target wifi network. Please note that I am going to tell you hacking WEP encrypted networks only. So your selected target network must be WEP encrypted. I'll soon prepare a tutorial on hacking WPA encrypted networks also.
5. Each network will have its details in the right column. Choose a target network with highest signal strength and lowest dB value.
6. After choosing your target network, select it and click CAPTURE to start capturing the packets from the desired channel.
7. Now you might see that packets are being captured from all the networks in the particular network. To capture the packets only from the desired network, follow the given steps:

• Right click on the desired network you want to capture the packets from and click on COPY MAC ADDRESS.
• Switch to the RULES tab on the top.
• On the left hand side, choose MAC ADDRESSES and enable MAC ADDRESSES RULES.
• For 'ACTION', select 'CAPTURE' and for 'ADD RECORD' select 'BOTH'.
• Now paste the copied MAC Address in the box below.

8. We are capturing data packets only for cracking, so select D on the bar at the top of the window and deselect M (Management Packets) and C (Control Packets).
9. Now we need to save the packets to be cracked later. To do this, go to the LOGGING tab on the top and enable AUTO SAVING. Now set maximum directory size to 2000 and set average log file size to 20.
10. That's all we needed to set. Now keep waiting untill the number of captured packets reach 100000. Please note that the time to capture packets will depend on the signal strength of the target network.
11. Now let's export the captured packets. Go to the LOG tab and click CONCATENATE LOGS.
12. Now select all the logs that have been saved.
13. Now minimize CommView for WiFi and navigate to the folder where concatenated logs have been saved and open the log file.
14. Now in CommView for WiFi, click File > Export >Wire shark tcpdump format and choose any suitable destination.
15. Now your logs will be saved with .cap extension on the selected destination.
16. Now open Aircrack-ng GUI (it may be present in the folder Aircrack-ng > BIN).
17. Choose WEP.
18. Open your .cap file which you saved earlier.
19. Click LAUNCH.
20. Now, a command prompt window will appear. Type the Index Number of your target network and wait for some time. If everything goes all right, you will see the wifi password. Just remove the ':' symbol from the hacked key and use it as the password for the target network.
