Concept Of REFRESH In Windows
Hello Everyone...
Today I am Going To Write On A Controversial Topic Hope You All Will enjoy :)
We Often Right Click and Then Click On "Refresh" But Have You Ever Thought That Why Do we do So..?
Now Some Of You are saying That...We Do That To Speed Up Our PC.. :)
No..Its Not Like That...Many Of Us think That The Process Of Refreshing Is Related To Random Access Memory Or RAM.
When I searched This For Google Then I Found That Most Of the Sites Is also Saying The Same That Refreshing Is Only Related To RAM....But Actually They are Only Copying Thoughts From One Site To Other.
Lets Assume All That Sites Are Right Then...?
Ques: Why There Is No Options For Refreshing On Dos Like Command Based Operating System..??
> Don't worry I will Give You The Answer For This Also But First Lets Start To Know What Actually Refreshing Means...
Have You Ever Tried To Install A Big Software Like Nero Or Corel Draw On Your PC....If Yes..Then You Know That At Some Point Of time Progress Bar Hangs up In Middle Like 20% or 30% And After Refreshing It Immediately Go To The Next Point Like 70%...
Ques: In My Terms It Doesn't Related To Any Sense With RAM..So Why This Happen...?
> It Simply Happens Just Because When We Click On Refresh...It Refreshes The Display Pixels Not RAM..
I Think Those Who Have Profound Knowledge About Graphics Will agree With me...
If You don't Have any Knowledge About Graphics Then Don't Worry..Read This Wikipedia Article All Will Be clear Soon.. :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refresh_rate
I know.. Wiki Terms Is So Much Technical So I am Going to Translate That Article In Simpler Terms That will Help You To Understand The Complete Procedure In Easy Way...
Now A days We Are Using LED or LCD monitors...don't worry if you are using CRT Monitor..the Process In All Monitor Remains Same.. :)
There Are Two Kinds Of refreshing Technique Applies On Monitor Like These...
First Is Random Scan..
and
Second Is Raster Scan..
Both Refreshing Technique Uses Different Process To Draw Pixels On The Screen. In Raster Scan Pixels Draw From Topmost Left Corner To Bottom most Right Corner and In Random Scan Pixels Draw Only The Selected Points On The Screen...
So When Any Kind Of Image Is Drawn On The Screen By These Two Techniques...The Image Must Have To Be Refreshed Time By Time To Keep That In Stable State Otherwise It Will Going To Be Fade soon... Both Of These Techniques Need a high Refresh Rate Around 600 MHz.
So When Any Image Is Drawn To Our Display Monitor It Have To be Refreshed Time By Time To Keep It Actual...
As I said Above
"Have You Ever Tried To Install A Big Software Like Nero Or Corel Draw On Your PC....If Yes..Then You Know That At Some Point Of time Progress Bar Hangs up In Middle Like 20% or 30% And After Refreshing It Immediately Go To The Next Point Like 70%.."
It Simply Happens Because After 20% Or 30% Your Image Is Not Going To Be Redrawn By That techniques.. So When You Manually Refresh The Screen An New Picture Emerge With The Progress Bar 70% .. :)
Ques: I Also Asked You That Why DOS Like Command Line Operating System doesn't Have A Feature Of Refreshing..?
> Answer Of this Is Simple..They Don't Use Much Of the Graphics Thats Why We Don't have To Manually Draw the Picture on the Screen By Clicking On Refresh... :)
So...Next Time When Anyone Asks You That Why Do We Refresh Our PC..Keep This Article In Your Mind.. :)
